Ida Catherine "Cathy" Wiggins' Obituary
Ida Catherine Wiggins, age 91 of Gainesville passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born March 16, 1933 in Birmingham, Alabama to Andrew Jackson Thomas and Gladys Thornton Thomas.
Cathy worked in many restaurants including Sonny’s, Days Inn, The Clock. In retirement she joined her husband at “Jacks” peanuts at the Waldo Flea Market.
She is survived by her children, Jacqueline (Mike) Smith, Dede (Jonathan) Pierson, Jack Nash and Pat (Jackie) Batie; grandchildren, David, Jr., Jason, Joey, Wade, Henry, Andy, Nique; great grandchildren, Jordan, Kristi, Kaelyn, Katie, Kaleb, Kamilah, Kingston, Evelyn and great great grandchild, Baby B.
She was preceded in death by, her husband, Willie Jack Wiggins, sister, Ella Blankenship and brother, Buddy Thomas.
A Graveside service will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Micanopy Historical Cemetery with Steve Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street.
