Hubert Coleman Mizell, 76, born to Leon and Ann Williams Mizell in Dublin, GA, died March 3, 2016 at his home in Gainesville, FL. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marcy; son Kevin, and sister Linda Hunter of Louisville, KY. Read Obituary
Hubert came into our family when I was 12 years old. For 50 years he has been my brother-in-law and a brother to me. He adored my sister, Marcy and my nephew, Kevin. He was always supportive of me during difficult times of my life. I will miss walking in their front door and seeing those broad shoulders sitting in his favorite chair watching sports. Rest in heavenly peace my brother.
Hubert was a student at Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville the first time i met him. He was on the basketball team and I was a football coach. My wife and I followed his career and would run into him from time to time over the years, usually at a sports related event, funeral, etc. and we would reminisce about our days in Jax. He was a very special man and always had a big smile. Our condolences to Marcie and Kevin. We share your loss. God Bless you. May your memories sustain you at this time.

Kevin, I am not sure if you will remember me but I tutored you in math many moons ago. I am sorry to see that your father has passed. The few times I was there both he and your mother were some of the friendliest people I have ever met. I know how difficult this is as I lost my father too early as well. As a cashier i will miss Mr Mizell coming through my line at publix..We would talk about the Mizell Minute and I would always say and thats what I think. And he would have this big smile.
