Howard J. Frohnapple's Obituary
Howard J. Frohnapple passed at the age of 97 on July 31, 2016 in Gainesville, Florida. He was a decorated WWII B-24 navigator who was wounded in action on his 21st combat mission while supporting the “D Day” invasion of Normandy. Howard graduated from the University of Buffalo with a degree in Business Administration. He was a Human Resources Manager and held positions with The Buffalo Chapter of the American Red Cross, General Drop Forge and Bell Aerospace Systems before taking his final position with the Erie County Health Department in Buffalo. “Howie” and his wife Frances resided in Orchard Park from 1945 till 2010 where they were prominent members of the community. Howard held numerous offices in the VFW and was an active member of the Orchard Park Volunteer Fire Company for over 50 years. He was a Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 288 and a founding member of Hickory Hill Swim Club.
Howard is survived by Frances, his wife of 73 years, and their five children, Dean, Frank, Holly, Diane and David. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Orchard Park Volunteer Fire Company, The VFW or your local Hospice.
