Herbert J. Holton, Jr.'s Obituary
Herbert J. Holton, Jr., 66, of Newberry passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Haven Hospice of the Tri-Counties in Chiefland. He was born April 20, 1951 in Tampa to Herbert J. and Edna Sarah Dawkins Holton, Sr. He was a member of The Pentecostals Church of Gainesville, and was a supervisor for O’Steen Brothers. Herbert was an avid hunter, fisherman, and racecar driver.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Holton; step daughter, Angela Wood of New York; sister, Mary Ellen Morgan of Newberry; brothers, Danny Holton of Alachua and David Holton of Micanopy, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and step daughter, Jessie Wood.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at The Pentecostals Church of Gainesville, 8105 NW 23rd Ave, with Pastor Jimmy Toney officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, starting at 5:00 p.m., at the church. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, https://www.cff.org.
