Helen B. Lightsey's Obituary
Helen B. Lightsey, age 83 of High Springs, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015. She was born July 10, 1931 in Orlando, Florida to Robison C. and Leafy Gertrude Carroll Black.
She was a retired librarian from Lake Butler Middle School. Mrs. Lightsey was a devoted pastor’s wife and a member of New Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James L. Lightsey.
She is survived by her sons, Rev. Rob Lightsey (Michelle) of High Springs and Jeff Lightsey (Barbra) of Gainesville; grandchildren, Kristin Theus (Walt), Ashley Outlaw (Brandon), Katie and Zack Lightsey; great grandchildren, Olivia Outlaw and Clara Theus.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. at New Oak Grove Baptist Church, 18100 NW 262nd Avenue, Alachua, FL with Rev. Rob Lightsey and Rev. Terry Elixson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 3:00 p.m. until time of service. She will be buried with her husband in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015.
