Helen Hazy's Obituary
Helen Hazy, 84, resident of Apopka, Florida, died Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Island Lake Nursing Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Hazy was born on July 11, 1932 in Budapest, Hungary. In 1951, she wed Mr. Victor Hazy, Sr., to whom she was married for 53 years, prior to his death in 2006. Together they immigrated to the United States in 1956, and after living in New York, moved to Florida in 1972. Mrs. Hazy was a homemaker who loved gardening, reading and playing Bingo. She was an optimist, and always cheerful. She loved people and was loved by those who knew her. She was of the Roman Catholic faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Hazy, of Altamonte Springs; two sons, Victor (Carol) Hazy of Gainesville, and Robin (Janet) Hazy, of Summit Point, WVa. Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 3:00 P. M., in the Chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one half hour prior, beginning at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alachua County Humane Society, 4205 NW 6th St, Gainesville, FL 32609.
