Hazel Kemper's Obituary
Hazel Kemper, age 103 passed away Monday October 2, 2017 In Gainesville, FL. She was born August 28, 1914 in Indianapolis, IN to Joel and Chlora Rodgers Kemper.
She worked for Eli Lilly Company and retired after 30 years. She relocated to Florida in 1998 to be near her dear nephew and niece, David and Pamela Dugle. She was a member of the International Order of The Kings Daughters for over 80 years and enjoyed traveling each year to the annual conference in Indiana. She traveled across the United States visiting all 48 contiguous states during her younger years.
Hazel played piano at the Nursing Homes to brighten the lives of those residents. She enjoyed playing all types of card games. She played games on her iPad and iPhone up until the end.
She was a member of Kanapaha Presbyterian Church and she loved her church family.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Susie Sexton and Viola Dugle.
She is survived by her nephews, David Dugle (Pamela) and Bob Sexton; many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kanapaha Presbyterian Church, 6221 SW 75th Terrace, Gainesville, FL 32608 or Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, 18670 High Springs Main St, High Springs, FL 32643.
