Harry Oscar Parker's Obituary
Harry Oscar Parker, age 76 of Gainesville passed away Monday, April 11, 2016. He was born January 7, 1940 in Homestead, FL to James Oliver and Mary Clemmons Parker.
He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, local 487. He was a United States Army Veteran and a diehard Gator fan. He enjoyed fishing, air boating and barbequing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Guyton Parker.
He is survived by children, Harry O. Parker, Jr. (Barbara) of Fitchburg, MA and Sherry L. Hamilton (Alan) of Branford, FL; sister, Jackie Slocomb of Colorado; grandchildren, Robert Schuck, Brandy Hughes and Jamie Parker; great grandchildren, Anthony May, Alyssa Schuck, Damian Hughes and Davina Schuck.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street with Pastor Gordon Keller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery.
