Jessica
First, my heart goes out to Harry's family. Such a special man. Being from Gainesville our whole lives my Mom remembered the many times Harry would do work on the car and all he did for so many.
Now I am "grown up" and every Friday usually we would head to get our gas, and our 20 year old car, would need a oil check to see if it was low and no matter how much pain he was in he would come on out and check it. I loved it when Harry did it as we got to chat and he would despite his pain, be more concerned about how you were getting along.
To his Grandaughter (unsure which one as I know he loved all his grandchildren) but he was always so very happy when he got to come and pick you up from school. I often caught him as he was leaving and there was a sparkle in his eye, and he'd say "Going to pick up my Granddaughter from school!!!!", This touched me close to home as having a Single Mom my Grandpa was much more like a Daddy to me than a Grandpa. All I know is it was a twinkle in his eye that he got to come and pick you up.
I know all of you will miss him in your own ways as will this whole town. I was so blessed to know him and have the honor of seeing him nearly every week. I know he is with you in spirit as you go through your days. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. My Mom and I would have attended the service and it was odd that we didn't get gas that week, we had been at Shands all day and I didn't find out till a week later and cried when I heard the news. Please know we would have come to the service but didn't even know till after. We will remember you in prayer and Harry for the wonderful person, man, he was. May your memories give you comfort and may you feel the love from all those who crossed his path.
Love and Prayers,
