Harris L. Beck's Obituary
Harris L. Beck, age 93 of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013. He was born February 2, 1920 in Medina, Ohio. He moved to Florida with his first wife Margaret in the late 1940s. He worked as an operator of the Jungle Cruise at Silver Springs and the projectionist at Marion Theatre in Ocala. In 1966, they moved to Gainesville and he worked again as a projectionist at Plaza Theatre until retirement. He and Margaret then moved to Alachua and lived there until her passing in the late 1980s. Harris met Kathryn and was remarried in the early 1990s, moving back to Gainesville and Bivens South. They enjoyed traveling throughout the country by automobile until his health prevented taking long trips.
He is survived by his son, David of Atlanta, GA and wife, Kathryn.
