Grover Cleveland Fogarty's Obituary
Grover Cleveland Fogarty, 92, of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026. He was best known as G.C., Cleve, Bossman or Bishop Fogarty.
In his earlier years he spent it as a sharecropper. In 1957 his love for God moved him into the ministry. He spent his years as pastor of 2 churches in Gainesville as well as Reddick and Brooker all at the Church of God of Prophecy. In his years of being in construction, there are now homes standing in Gainesville and the surrounding area.
The love he had for his precious wife, family and friends was beyond measure but most of all his love for God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Bishop Fogarty and Ed Ward Fogarty, his son, Lonnie Fogarty, several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Pearlie, 3 daughters, Jean (Fred), Jeanette (Dennis), Rachel (Ricky); 2 sons, Donald (Ann) and Ronnie (Anjela); As for his 50 grandchildren, he has enough for a football team and cheerleaders.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the Westside Church of Prophecy, 909 NW 44th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida 32609.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St., Newberry. A celebration honoring the life of Pastor Fogarty will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Parker and Pastor Joe Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Meadows East Cemetery.
