Gregory Wilson Parsons' Obituary
Gregory Wilson Parsons, a loving husband, father, and devoted Marine, passed away on November 29, 2024, at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pam, in 2007. Never remarried, Greg remained a devoted father to his two sons, Tom and Chris Parsons.
A graduate of East Carolina University with a master's degree in business, Greg dedicated 25 years of his life to serving his country as a Marine. He was a pilot his entire career, logging over 6,000 hours of flight time, mostly in a CH-46 Heli. He believed deeply in the ideals of freedom and the greatness of the United States, and he would have reenlisted at the drop of a hat if needed.
Greg was also an active participant in local politics, always seeking ways to serve and improve his community. He was an avid reader, and in his personal life, he found joy in traveling both across the country and abroad to support his son Tom at his events, attending the X Games and other motorcycle competitions throughout the year.
Above all, Greg was a man of great integrity and character, leaving behind a legacy of service, devotion, and love. His impact on those who knew him will never be forgotten.
After his wake on January 18, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Downtown, Greg will be honored with a military funeral service in the spring at Arlington National Cemetery, where he will finally be laid to rest with his wife, Pam.
He is survived by his sons, Tom and Chris Parsons, and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
