Grace B Kendrick's Obituary
Grace B. Kendrick, 86 – Our amazing Grace passed away peacefully June 25th. Grace was born on July 9, 1934, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Plainfield, New Jersey, and graduated from Centenary College. She pursued a career in merchandising in New York City. Her plans changed one summer in Bay Head when she met her future husband Anthony “Bud” Kendrick. She shifted her focus to her family and making her husband look good, supporting him in his career as an Air Force Officer and later as a financial advisor with Solomon Smith Barney.
Always active, Grace was involved in the local Women’s and Garden Clubs. She was an avid gardener, fantastic cook, and was known as the “Cookie Lady” by those fortunate enough to have received holiday treats. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and beloved golden retrievers, antiquing, and traveling to Maine.
She is predeceased by her husband Col. Anthony “Bud” Kendrick, brother Michael Boruch, sisters Joan Dimoush and Carol Boruch. Grace is survived by her daughter Pam Kendrick, her husband Chris Johnson and grandsons Nicholas and Anthony of Fort Mill, SC., and daughter Cindy Curtis, her husband John Curtis, and granddaughter Abby of Gainesville.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 500 NE 6th Ave., Gainesville, FL 32601 on Monday, July 12th at 2:00 PM. Grace will be laid to rest next to her husband “Bud” at Florida National Cemetery.
