Gordon F. Bunker's Obituary
Gordon F. Bunker, D.O., 81, of Dunnellon, Florida, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.
Dr. Bunker was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on December 17, 1939, to the late Wayne and M. Josephine Bunker. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force; and in his younger years he worked as an aircraft machinist/engineer, alongside inventor and businessman, Bill Lear, working on the first Lear Jet and assisting with the very first 8-track tape players for automobiles.
He later went to medical school, became a physician. He was in family practice, mostly in Florida and Georgia, until his retirement in 2011.
His hobbies and interests are too varied to list, but above all, was his enjoyment of flying.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn S. Bunker, of Havana.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1:30 P. M., in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
