Glen Thomas Norton's Obituary
Glen Thomas Norton, age 94 of Gainesville, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was born October 25, 1922 in Bad Axe, Michigan to Thomas and Arvila Roeser Norton. He graduated in 1946 from Michigan State University, a lifelong Spartan. A WWII veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a P-47 fighter pilot and retired as Lt. Colonel. He worked for twenty years with the Food and Drug Administration. After retirement, he was an avid private pilot.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Jean L. Norton. He is survived by his two children, Douglas Norton (Susan Fruchter) and Gail Norton; three grandchildren, David Norton, MD, Max Herndier and Rose Herndier and two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Brennan.
A Gathering will be held at a later date in January at his residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the United Service Organization, P.O. Box 96860, Washington, DC 20077-7677 or uso.org, would be greatly appreciated.
