Gertie Durrance McAfee's Obituary
Gertie Durrance McAfee, age 90, passed away on October 1, 2022, in Newberry, FL. She was born on January 25, 1932, in Alachua County, FL. to John Rema and Ruth Lenora Rain Durrance.
She lived in Newberry all of her life and worked at Ruddy’s department store in her early years. She also was a private duty CNA until her retirement. Gertie loved working in her yard with her flowers and volunteered at Blessed Hope in Newberry.
Gertie is Survived by her Son, Gary McAfee, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James “Bill” William McAfee; siblings Lamar, Jim, Jack, Joe Durrance, and Mary Louise Jones
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Westarea 823 N.W. 143rd Street Newberry, Fl.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Jonesville Cemetery 17745 S.W. 15th Ave. Newberry, FL. with Pastor Bill Keith as officiant.
