Mr. George William Inch's Obituary
Mr. George William Inch, 95, of Gainesville, Florida, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in the Palm Garden Nursing Home, following a long illness.
Mr. Inch was born in St. Denis De Pile, France on October 15, 1923 to the late George and Margaret Inch, and moved to New York when he was 13 years old. He grew up in New York, and as a young man joined the U. S. Army Air Corps, serving as a tail gunner over Europe during World War II. Following the war, he spent time in the Caribbean, before moving to Florida, and starting his career as an executive chef at several country clubs. He raised his family in New York and after retiring, he moved back to Florida, spending the last 8 years in Gainesville. Mr. Inch will be remembered by his family as a kind and gentle man.
He is survived by 6 children, by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held in Jacksonville National Cemetery, at a later date.
