George E. Huber's Obituary
George E. Huber, age 82, passed away at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida on August 21, 2016 surrounded by his family. Mr. Huber was born in New Richmond, Ohio to the late Lottie and Clifford Huber. Six siblings, who resided in Ohio, preceded him in death. He attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary receiving a Master of Theology degree and was ordained as a Minister. He ministered to the Oxford Church of Christ in Oxford, Ohio. He attended the University of Cincinnati before moving to Gainesville, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Counselor Education. He worked at Santa Fe Community College for 30 years in various positions where prior to retirement, he was Director of Records & Admissions. Upon retirement, he was engaged in Real Estate Property Management. He also authored a book entitled Medical Madness: Meet the Golden Rule. He was an avid tennis player and a fitness enthusiast.
Mr. Huber is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ella Mae; his daughter, Becky (Nancy) of Jacksonville; two sons, Brent of Gainesville and Bart of Jacksonville, and five grandsons of Jacksonville, Zachary, Benjamin, Parker, Joshua, and Christopher.
Memorial Services for Mr. Huber will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to the Santa Fe Foundation, Robertson Admin Building Room 207 3000 NW 83rd Street, Gainesville, FL 32606, Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606, or the American Cancer Society, 2119 SW 16th St, Gainesville, FL 32608.
