Dr. George N. Henderson Ph.D.'s Obituary
Dr. George N. Henderson, Ph.D, 69, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away from complications from heart failure on February 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Lalitha Henderson, Ph.D., Au.D., his children, Eric Henderson and Anitha Henderson, Esq. and brothers, Wilson, Trowel, Graham and Samraj.
Dr. Henderson was born on October 2, 1947 in India. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and then continued to do research at the University of Victoria (Canada). Dr. Henderson then came to work as a research scientist at the Department of Endocrinology, College of Medicine, at the University of Florida and retired as an Associate Research Professor.
In addition to being a devoted husband and father, Dr. Henderson was an avid collector, photographer, gardener. He also enjoyed learning about new technology of all kinds and traveling around the world.
A Memorial Service for Dr. Henderson will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, with Rev. David Leonard officiating.
