General Lee Lester's Obituary
Lester General Lee Jr (G.L. “Moon”), 79 of Hawthorne, died peacefully December 15, 2013 in North Florida Regional Hospital. He was born March 12, 1934 in Waldo, FL to Mary Francis Saunders, and General Lee Lester Sr.
“Moon” Lester was a builder for 60 years and a member of the local Carpenter’s Union 75 in Gainesville, FL for 61 years. Moon built all over the state of Florida and in Virginia, throughout his extensive career. “Moon” did not retire until age 74.
Brother Lester was a member of the Jehovah Witness Congregation in Hawthorne.
He is preceded in death by his parents and eldest son, Stuart Lee “Skip” Lester, along with his brothers Jimmy, and Farris Lester, and sister Mary Lou Lester Hall.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Elouise Hall Lester; his daughter, Carmen Lester Davis and his son, Timothy Stewart Lester, Sr (Lisa), siblings Phyllis Lester Blackwell (Bill), Randall Lester (Carol) and many nieces and nephews, grandsons Lloyd Davis III, Jason Davis (Jessica), and Timothy Stewart Lester Jr, granddaughter Brandi Field (Steve) and great grandchildren, Mason and Landon Davis, Mattie, Alli and Aaron Field.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2013, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, US 301 South at Lake Avenue. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, with Jim Crosley officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Lochloosa. The Lester Family will be receiving friends and family at their home following the services Saturday, December 21st.
