Genelle Berry's Obituary
Genelle Berry, 90, of High Springs, Florida, died Monday, August 25, 2025, at the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, Gainesville, Florida, following a long illness.
Mrs. Berry was a member of First Baptist Church in Pell City, Alabama; she has lived in High Springs for the past four years to be near her daughter (Beverly) and her family. She attended High Springs Baptist during that time. She was a member of the Faith & Charity Sunday School in Pell City, the Love & Care Ministry and a Parish Nurse.
A graduate of New Site AL High School and Carraway Methodist School of Nursing. She retired from St. Clair Regional Hospital in Pell City, AL as a registered nurse, Assis. Director of Nursing & House Supervisor. She was a past board member of the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association; as well as a volunteer of Lakeside Hospice for over 20 years. She was an avid bridge player. She loved her family and friends which she was devoted to helping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan & Eunice Hanson; brothers, Garron & Howard; sister, Yvonne; and her husband, Houston G. Berry.
Survivors include her daughter Beverly (John) Brewer, two grandchildren, Holly (Nic) Knope, Cole (Miranda) Brewer and four great-grandchildren; Addy and Lucas Knope, and Harlee and Wiley Brewer, as well as nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
Funeral services will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City, Alabama at a later date.
