Gary Louis Corbett's Obituary
Gary Corbett, age 63 of Alachua, Florida passed away Friday, August 8, 2014. He was born September 27, 1950 in Northampton, Massachusetts to James Joseph and Alice Helena Ouellet Corbett.
Gary and his brothers enjoyed many days growing up in the north sledding and sharing one vehicle and following in their father’s footsteps in law enforcement. They also shared the talent of creativity of building design and construction. Gary graduated from Northampton High School and Westfield State College. Gary pursued life in south Florida where he remained committed to his job in Law enforcement. He was the best provider and father anyone could ask for and the most dedicated husband and friend. Gary retired at the rank of Major from the Broward County Sheriff’s office. He and his wife Mary moved to Alachua ten years ago from Davie, FL. He was a member of St Madeleine Catholic Church. He continued to enjoy building and taught all his son-in-laws for their future.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Susan Corbett; daughters, Alice Corbett, Mary Greenbaum, Michelle Clark, Katherine Corbett; sons, Travis Henderson, Gary Corbett; brothers, David and Michael Corbett; grandchildren, Bob, Sandra and Victoria Greenbaum, Sebastian Henderson, Adysun Corbett and Marston Clark.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy and his parents, James and Alice Corbett.
Visitation will be held at 11:00a.m. with Funeral Services at 11:30a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at St. Madeleine Catholic Church, 17155 NW US 441, High Springs with Fr. Sebastian K. George. A reception will follow in the St. Madeleine Family Life Center. Arrangements are under the care of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. The family requests donations to Hospice of the Nature Coast, 150 North Main Street, High Springs, FL 32643.
