Ms. Gaila Jenese Simmons' Obituary
Ms. Gaila Jenese Simmons, 43, lifelong resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Sunday, August 19, 2018 in the Shands Hospital, following a long illness.
Ms. Simmons was born in Gainesville, Florida on August 31, 1974. She has lived in Gainesville her entire life; Gaila had a servant’s heart, she enjoyed cooking for others and caring for children. She was a loving mother, and was preceded in death by a son, Jah Hee Simmons in 2012, and by her father, the late Mr. Willie Norman.
She is survived by her mother, Gaile Simmons and step-father, Ferman Perry; three sons, Roy Simmons, Frank Battle, Jr. and Farah Battle; a sister, Gigi Simmons; aunts, Terri Simmons and Edith Cole; nephews, Sterling Simmons and Nicholas Simmons, along with numerous loving cousins.
Gaila’s wishes were for there to be no formal services, and the family will handle services privately. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
