I am reminded everyday of "Doc" Schnell's kindness and brilliance when I brush my teeth and see the beautiful gold crowns he installed oh so long ago when I was a college student in Gainesville. I met Steve through my brother, Tom Veal, who was a fellow handball player and spent many hours on that handball court at Steve's house.

To Steve's family: we lived in Masonwood for 28 years and always enjoyed your parent's visits--Patty walking in the neighborhood and Steve driving by and stopping. Both just wonderful folks. A very sweet memory we will always have of your Dad was his offer to stay at our home to take care of it, answer the phone and door, while we were at our 22 year old son's funeral. We have never forgotten that kindness. They were such an important part of the life and love in our little neighborhood. Our best wishes as you and yours travel the mourner's path.
