Frederick Spence Oman's Obituary
Frederick Spence Oman, age 82, of Dowling Park, Florida passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015. He was born March 28, 1932 in Morristown, New Jersey to Frederick Emil and Anna Spence Oman.
He grew up in Morristown New Jersey. He later enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country as a member of the Navy Seabees during the Korean War. Mr. Oman was a general contractor in New Jersey for 30 years and also a volunteer firefighter for Far Hills Fire Department in Far Hills, New Jersey. He was a member of the American Legion #57 in Lake City.
Mr. Oman is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vilma; sons, Christopher Spence Oman (Suann), Louis Spence Oman; grandchildren, Kristen, Alexandra, Jaine Oman and Alissa.
He is preceded by his sister, Audrey Oman.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd street. Family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Pluckemin, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park.
