Frank Thomas Mijares' Obituary
Frank Thomas Mijares passed away at North Florida Regional hospital the morning of September 25, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Kelb Mijares. Frank was born in Rahway, New Jersey on December 19, 1931, to Frank Mijares and Mary Ryan Mijares.
His mom and dad were in show business (circus) and traveled extensively. As a result, he lived with his grandparents in Rahway. During the summer he would join his parents.
Upon graduating from Rahway High School, he enlisted in the U.S.Navy. He later went on to graduate from the University of Miami with a BBA Degree before re-enlisting in the U.S. Air Force and serving in the Korean War. He was very proud to be listed in the Air and Space Museum for his honorary service.
Over the course of his career, he was an electronic salesman and served as a design consultant for several well-known government contractors. He later branched off to form his own consultant firm (FTM Associates) before retiring.
Frank had many interests including boating, fishing, golf, and snow skiing, where he met his wife, Peggy. One of his passions was music, and he formed a band called the Chandlers who performed professionally. Frank had three children, Scott, Robin, and Marcy. He was also the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Ryan, Michael, Maile, Jenna, Jesse, and Emilie, and one great-grandchild, Gabriella.
Frank will be cremated and there will be no viewing or service. The family would appreciate donations to the American Heart Association www.heart.org in Frank’s memory.
