Frances Maurine Williamson's Obituary
Frances Maurine Williamson went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in Houston, Texas, June 18, 1924 and resided there until being moved to Gainesville in 2001. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband J.M. Williamson. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, a devoted Christian who loved working and serving the Lord all her life in her Houston Church. Although her memory faded with the disease she remained sweet, gracious and loving and continued singing then humming her favorite hymns almost until her passing. Her local membership was at the 1st Presbyterian Church, Gainesville.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie, and her husband Dr. Don McGarity; grandchildren, Holly (Robert) Durrenberger and John McGarity; great grandchildren, Ian (Desiree) Durrenberger, Shannon Durrenberger, John Jr and Jeb McGarity, and great, great, grandchildren, Josiah, Analiese, Isaiah and Elijah Durrenberger.
The family would like to thank the special people at the Southwest Assisted Living for their love, kindness and tender care for the last 2 years.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., in Forest Meadows Central Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 22, 2014, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street.
