I loved and admired Frankie and the whole Heitzman family! Her parents, Frank and Vera, were friends with my mother and father, and we used to spend Monday nights at their house having dinner, and Mr. Heitzman (Heitz" to my dad) and Daddy would watch the fights (boxing) on tv. They had one and we didn't. Frankie was a teen-ager then, and was the first person I had ever seen roll her hair in socks! She was SO pretty and sweet, and I REALLY looked up to her! She was the first person I ever knew to be married, and when she married Don, it was like a fairy tale to me. Later on, after she and Don had moved away, her parents offered refuge to me at a troubled time in my life, and let me live in their house. I can't remember if I stayed in her old room, or Kitty's, What a wonderful family! I never got to know Frankie and Don's children, but knew and loved all her brothers and sisters, and after many years away, I was blessed to visit twice with Frankie and renew old memories on two occasions. A bright light has passed from this world with her passing, but she was known and loved by many. My prayers go out to the family of this beautiful woman. May she rest in peace.
