Frances Melvina Conner Dobbs' Obituary
Frances Melvina Conner Dobbs, age 93 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 in E.T. York Care Center. She was born December 31, 1922 in Raiford, Florida to James Monroe Conner and Leila Frances Crews Conner. Frances was a Godly woman whose calling in life was to be a pastor’s wife. She played the piano and organ for over 60 years in various churches. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She shared her Christian values and the word of God to every life she touched throughout her years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lonnie Dobbs and her only child, Raymond Dobbs Sr. She is survived by her five grandchildren, Tracy Goolsby (Buddy), Frances Dobbs-Jaggers, Ray Dobbs Jr., Erica Dobbs and Lonnie Dobbs and six great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, with Pastor Carley Pearson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service in Memorial Park East, 3700 SE Hawthorne Road. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
