Evelyn R. Blackard's Obituary
Evelyn R. Blackard, age 90 of Gainesville, Florida passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014. She was born in Lexington, South Carolina on February 29, 1924 to Henry and Emmie Griffith Reeder.
Evelyn lived at Palm Garden of Gainesville for the last few years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Blackard.
She is survived by son John Blackard and wife Becky of Hoboken, GA; granddaughter, Julie Cantila and close friends, Polly Chancy and Donald and Darlene Schladant.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Dr. Don McGarity officiating. Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2119 S.W. 16th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608.
