Evan Michael Greenstein's Obituary
Evan Michael Greenstein, age 30, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Shands Hospital. Born February 8, 1988, he was a life-long resident of Gainesville.
Evan attended PK Yonge DRS, Gainesville High School, and earned a degree in Political Science from SFCC. He loved history and politics and enjoyed any time spent at the beach. Evan had a kind heart, caring about and spending time with family and friends. He cared about the homeless, asking about their life and what brought them to the street. He has taken his shirt off to give to someone he felt needed it more than he did.
Evan was preceded in death by his father, Alan, in 2005. He leaves behind his mother, Ellen, and brother, Matt, along with aunts, uncles and cousins, and the many people whose lives Evan impacted.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 A.M., at the B’nai Israel Cemetery, at the corner of Waldo Road and University Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Evan's name, to the ACLU, https://action.aclu.org/donate.
