Eugene "Tony" Holt's Obituary
Eugene “Tony” Holt, age 75 of Hawthorne, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at UF Health Shands. He was born in De Soto, Georgia on December 6, 1939. In 1975 he moved to Florida and a year later started a business with his wife, Holt Professional Roofing, where he remained the president until he retired several years ago. Tony was well known in the community for his work ethic and for the skills that he taught the family to carry on his legacy. He enjoyed being outdoors, watching westerns, and country music.
He is survived by his 9 children, Charles Holt, Jr., James Holt, Sr., Tony Holt, Sr., Randall Holt, Sr., Mary Ann Holt Harrell; Melvin Holt, Alex Holt, Mary Lou Yerman and Renee Holt; 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Shirley Holt, grandchild, Brenda Holt and great grandchild, Ian Catlet.
A Life Celebration Service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, with Dr. L.D. Osteen officiating.
