Ethel Lee Hart's Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved sister Ethel Lee Hart, 79, longtime resident of Alachua, Florida, she passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at her home, following a long illness.
Ethel Hart was born in Olustee, Florida on January 16, 1947, to the late Ernest Roger and Edna Mae Crews. She had lived in Alachua for many years, retiring from General Electric. Ethel Hart was always a caring neighbor, looking out for anyone who had needs, she enjoyed cooking and baking; reading and gardening and was an avid Wheel of Fortune watcher!
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Strickland, a son, James Kent; two grandchildren, Amanda and Michael Strickland and by one sister, Edna Lee Bray.
She is survived by four sisters, Ernestine Imogene Rule, Earlene Della Frampton, Evelyn Joyce Frampton, and Elsie Ruth Oglesby, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hart will be laid to rest privately at a later date. We would like to thank her lifelong friends Jonathan and Pamela (Schnieder) Wershow for all the care and compassion they showed her and to all of the dear friends of Ethel’s that have been so helpful and supportive during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to Haven Hospice in Ethels name https://havenhospice.com/donate.
