Enid V. Alexis' Obituary
Enid V. Alexis, 92, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the E. T. York Care Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Alexis was born in Trinidad, West Indies on September 23, 1925. She came to the United States in 1968, living for many years in New Jersey, where she worked as a dressmaker. Mrs. Alexis moved to Florida in 1990 and to Gainesville in 1995. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and in her spare time, she loved tending to her flower garden.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Lloyd L. Alexis; a daughter, Paul Mason; a son, Ashton Loney, both of Trinidad; sisters, Eva Armstrong, and Hilda Couttien, all of Trinidad; a sister in law, Irma Foster, of London, England; nieces, Charlotte Heard, of Kent, England, Sharmane Armstrong, of Canada, Jane Herbert, of Daytona Beach, and Carmen Alfred, of Ontario, Canada; and nephew Steve Uleri and family; special friends, Robin Hoskins, Donald Thomas, Pete Gunter and Randall Thomas.
A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 A. M., in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 500 NE 16th Avenue, Gainesville, with Fr. Lawrence Peck, celebrant.
