Was surprised to read of Elwood’s passing. I remember the days (years) at Southern Bell that he spent working alongside my late father, Frank (F.L.) Williams, who passed in May, 2014. By now, they have long since met anew in glory. Dad spoke of “Elwood” or “Baker” often…and glowingly.
The "Church" has lost a great man, a real servant of God! Our loss is His gain as Brother Elwood is worshiping with Jesus and those that have gone before him like Bro. Gordon Keller.

Very sad to hear of Uncle Elwood's passing. He was a funny man full of life and always had a hug to share. Prayers to all of the Baker family.
We will be sorrowing most of all for the words which Reverend Baker spoke of Jesus, and that we will see his face no more until eternity. We praise God and ask that the Holy Spirit help us to finish well just as he did. Our prayers are with his family. --Jim & Victoria Langford
"Mr. B" David and I loved him so much. Shared meals with him. We had an appt at avrestaurant once but got there and it was closed. I can hear him giggle. We had him out to see our RV and tell about our life change. We laughed talked about my parents. Lost them many years ago but as it would have it their plots are right next to theirs. We miss him but can hear him sharing the word with everyone in heaven. Give mom and dad a hug and preach dear man!!!❤️❤️🤗🤗🙏🙏
Great man. I had forgotten his gator connection with announcing games. He always had a smile for people and a wonderful outlook on life. He was truly an inspiration to his children and people that came to know him. The world lost a fine man. Rest in peace, Mr Baker.
I remember when my wife and I were talking about getting married, we had asked Pop to preform our service. We went to visit with him beforehand for counseling/advice. The two main things I remember was…to never go to bed angry at one another, and to treat each other as your best friend. Guess it must have worked …..we’ll celebrate 40 years in April. Thanks Pop
