Elsie Ergle Taylor's Obituary
Elsie Ergle Taylor, 91, of Newberry, Florida passed away on November 12, 2020.
She was born on March 6, 1929, in Lochloosa, Florida to Omar Harrison and Mabel Waldron Ergle.
Mrs. Taylor graduated from Hawthorne High School, and Lena Hunter Business School in Gainesville.
While attending school in Hawthorne, she received the American Legion Good Citizenship Award. She competed in High School Sports and continued playing on teams thru the Gainesville Recreation Department.
Elsie retired from Alachua County Services in 1995 as a Fiscal Assistant and was recognized by the Alachua County Board of Commissioners for her 30 years of dedication to Alachua County.
Elsie was a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1952, she served as President as well as holding other offices. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church, Alachua County Historic Trust, Matheson Museum, Inc., and Friends of Dudley Farm.
She is survived by her daughter; Robyn Taylor (Stuart), Son; Randall Dabney Taylor, aunt; Iva McLaughlin, two grandsons; Randall and Ryan Taylor
She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Dabney Taylor.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Forest Meadows West with Dr. Don McGarity officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials: Donations to Dudley Farm
