Elsie Lou Biggs Joiner's Obituary
Elsie Lou Biggs Joiner, 82 of Micanopy, Florida, was the fifth of six children born to Orvel Lee and Ora Ferne Stratton Biggs. She was born July 15, 1934 in Moffat, Colorado and departed this life on November 8, 2016 at E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville, Florida.
A passion of Elsie’s was doing family history. She was a consultant at the Family History Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for approximately 11 years. She would go out of her way to help anyone with their family history research. Elsie loved all people and her animals.
She leaves to mourn: her husband of 60 years, having been joined in holy matrimony on May 14, 1956 in Taos, New Mexico, James Clayton Joiner of Micanopy, FL; daughter, Ramona Kay Joiner Carney of Quitman, GA; three granddaughters, Alayna Kay Carney of Micanopy, FL, Ramsay Fowler Joiner of Columbus, GA and Deborah Lane Joiner Hunsinger (Brandon) of Columbus, GA; great granddaughter, Hensley Shea Hunsinger of Columbus, GA; brother, Ernest Dale Biggs of Monument, CO; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Jo Stanley Biggs of Monument, CO, Betty Ann Schaeffer Biggs of CO and Darlene Faye Schaeffer Hutts of OK; many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her son, Orvel Lynn Joiner, her parents, sister, Virginia Ann Biggs Lilly and brothers, Ross Lee Biggs, Bruce Darrell Biggs and Bobbie Farrell Biggs.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5th Ward, 3745 NW 16th Blvd. Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice.
