Elmer Herbert "Bert" Crosby III's Obituary
Elmer Herbert “Bert” Crosby III, age 67 of Hawthorne, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his home. Bert was born October 23 ,1951 in Tampa, Florida to Elmer and Connie Crosby. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School and retired from Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. He was a certified Mason and worked as one of the original school resource officers for Florida. In his free time, Bert enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking out with his friends.
Bert was preceded in death by his wife Sandra in 2013 and sister, Connie Lynn Crosby. He is survived by his sons, Herbert “Buddy” (Sissy) Crosby and Shawn Akers; daughter, Lisa (Rod) Stephens; brother, William “Bill” (Janine) Crosby; grandchildren, Brianna, Lindsey, Jared, Sierra and Andrea, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, US 301 South at Lake Avenue, with Pastor Troy Rumore officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, November 19, 2018, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
