Elizabeth Parks' Obituary
Elizabeth Parks passed away at her home in Gainesville in early March. She was born in 1960 in Virginia and lived most of her life in Florida, first in Jacksonville then in Micanopy and Gainesville. Elizabeth was predeceased by her close relatives including her Grandmother who raised her and whom she loved dearly. Elizabeth was by profession a registered nurse but her true love was caring for animals. She volunteered at both dog and horse rescue organizations and worked for a local veterinary practice. Anyone who spent time with Elizabeth heard at least a few of her animal stories.
Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her friends. She was a long-time member of the “Wanton Women”, a group of friends with ties to Micanopy whose name is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Micanopy’s first general store, Wanton’s.
Private services will be held in Micanopy. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alachua County Humane Society in Elizabeth’s honor would be appreciated.
