Short Grandma took us in like we were family. She always had a smile and a hug for my family. We started calling her pet name because she said we were family. She was always making sure we were FEELING welcome at any family event. She will always be with us in our heart.
I am so sorry to hear Mrs Surrency passed. What a beautiful soul she had, always serving our Lord. Her voice was a true Gift from God. I have so many memories growing up with the Surrency family and ours(the Hutchins) filling up the pews at Church. I loved seeing her still singing in the choir when I came home to visit my family. Mrs. Surrency always had a kind and encouraging word. The life she lived showed a special love not only for her family but for the community. She will be missed.
I always enjoyed her laughter and conversations about the history of Hawthorne,Fl and her family. She was always known as granny Surrency to so many, even those not related. She will be missed in Hawthorne,Fl.
Mrs S was a force in my life from high school and the entire time in Hawthorne. She always held my hand and was concerned with how I was doing. I always enjoyed talking with her every single time I saw her! She will be greatly missed!!!
