Eli Glazer's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved father, Eli Glazer – Eliyahu son of Benjamin and Esther Glazer (Nov. 4, 1936/19 Heshvan 5697 – Nov. 16, 2021/12 Kislev 5782). Eli lived a full, fruitful and ethical life. He died peacefully with a clear mind in hospice at the Lake City VA hospital Florida, with his three daughters by his side.
Eli was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was the youngest of four sons of immigrant parents. He earned his BSc in electrical engineering from City College and his MSc from Columbia University. As a licenced professional engineer, he was a lifetime member of IEEE. After serving in the US Army with an honourable discharge with the rank of lieutenant, he worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island. Following that, he joined Digital Equipment Corporation as a branch manager and product line manager. During his work at DEC, he opened the company’s branch in Israel in 1971. He is survived by his three loving daughters, two sons-in-law, five beloved grandchildren, three nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 18 at 9:30 am at Congregation B'nai Israel, 3830 NW 16th Blvd, Gainesville, FL and followed by a brief burial service at 11:00 am at the Jewish Cemetery in Gainesville - Corner of Williston and, E University Ave. Participants are requested to wear masks and practice safe social distancing.
