Eleanor Todd Templeton's Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor Todd Templeton, 85, of Gainesville, FL and Charlotte, NC, died March 5, 2023. Mrs. Templeton was born in Charlotte, NC to Lottie Torrence Todd and Harold Price Todd. Eleanor was a 1956 Central High School graduate. She attended Greensboro College and then The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she graduated with a BA in Elementary Education. She was a volunteer throughout the years with The Women’s Auxiliary, Nature Museum, Presbyterian Hospital, Children’s Theatre, Garden Club of Mooresville, PTA, and more.
She had a lifelong devotion for her church and was a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church and then First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville where she was very active with the church fulfilling many roles including Circle Moderator, Preschool Director, Elder, Women’s programs and bell choir. She was awarded a life membership in the Presbyterian Women.
Survivors include her children, Mary Beth Blackley (David) of Charlotte, NC, Gray Templeton (Misty) of Blowing Rock, NC, Ann Clark (Dale) of Gainesville, FL, Barbara Brodie (Steve) of Washington, NC, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. Templeton will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and church and for her giving nature.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Haven Hospice of Gainesville, FL.
