Elaine Agnes Walden's Obituary
Elaine Agnes Walden, 89, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Thursday, June 8, 2017, in the E. T. York Haven Hospice Care Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Walden was born in Archer, Florida, on September 24, 1927, the 12th of 13 children, to the late John Andrew and Zofia Gocek. Mrs. Walden lived much of her life in Kentucky, saying that she was born in Florida, but that Kentucky was her home. She returned to Florida several years ago. She was a gifted artist, a talented floral designer and bonsai tree gardener, and a seamstress.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Maria Walden of Taylor, Michigan; one granddaughter, Nikki Schley of Allen Park, Michigan, a great grandson, Locke Schley; and one sister, Dorothea Gocek, of Gainesville.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 2:00 P. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street, with Rev. Johnny Arnette, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P. M.
