Edward "Ed" Luna Goolsby's Obituary
Edward “Ed” Luna Goolsby, age 75 of Earleton, FL passed Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home. He was born March 18, 1948, in Jacksonville, Florida to Donald Edward and Glydia Luna Goolsby.
Ed graduated from Florida State University in 1970. He was a partner of James Moore & Company for many, many years before his retirement. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Gainesville Country Club for many years. Ed was a loyal member of the Gainesville Elks Lodge for over 40 years. He loved to fish and hunt.
Ed was a member of Mountain Glen Golf Club in Newland, NC, and a regular attendee of Matney Liberty Church in Matney, NC.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Lynn Goolsby; daughter, Jeri-Lynn Beeson (Mark): brother, John Michael Goolsby (Darlene); his beloved dogs, Pixie and Willie.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Michael Smith.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown.
A funeral service will be held at Gentry Funeral Home in Yadkinville, NC on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Hollis officiating.
A Celebration of Life will be held On Sunday April 14, 2024, at The Elks Lodge in Gainesville.
