John Bullock
Dear Dugan Family,
Please accept my sincerest sympathy on the loss of Edward. I was a high school classmate of Ed at Notre Dame and his mother taught my brother, Ed Bullock, chemistry. He went on to be a very successful chemical engineer.
A great memory I have of Ed involved a visit he paid to my home in South Side, Easton, PA. We were playing catch on the side of the house in a narrow space of ground between our house and our neighbor. I had fashioned a pitcher's plate out of a piece of plywood and 2 antenna rods I had driven into the ground (I was a pitcher and an outfielder for the baseball team). Eddie's throws could be even more erratic than mine and one of them smashed the glass covering on the electric meter attached to the side of the house. After the initial shock, we had a great laugh and it became a wonderful memory - at least, for me.
We lost track after high school as our paths took different directions but I remember young Eddie and always admired his intellect, his quiet sense of humor, and his broad, wonderful smile. He was an exceptional young man and I am sure he was an exceptional adult, father, husband, son, teacher, friend, and coworker. Rest in Peace, Ed, I am sure that God has welcomed you home. We mourn your loss but are thankful for your life well lived that has made us all better for having known you somewhere along the line.
