Earnest "Albert" Hollon's Obituary
Earnest "Albert" Hollon, 81, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on June 14, 2016.
He was born on March 12, 1935, near Montgomery, Alabama, to James Allen and Lois Etta Manning Hollon.
As a young man in Alabama, Albert learned the furniture upholstery trade which he continued until his retirement in Pensacola, Florida, as owner of Ross Interiors and Upholsterers. He relocated to Gainesville, Florida, to enjoy his retirement years in 2008.
Albert was also a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International for a number of years. His life of ministry included directing the choir, evangelizing, and pastoring.
Above all, he loved the Lord and loved to share his testimony of God's love and mercy with anyone, anywhere. Given the multiple miracles Albert experienced in his own life, he was often described by others as the "Come back Kid." He lived by the motto, "Faith: Fantastic Adventures In Trusting Him." He touched the lives of family, friends, and even strangers, with faith-building words of love and encouragement.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Glenda Johnson Hollon, of Gainesville, FL; daughter, Cassandra Goodson (Daniel) of Gainesville, FL; son, Charlton Hollon (Leah) of Red Wing, MN; daughter, Pamela Clayton (Robert) of Pensacola, FL; 9 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grand Children; brother, William Hollon and sister Earline Bazzell both of Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Lane Hollon, Alabama; Father, James Allen; mother, Lois Etta; and brother, Duffy Hollon.
Home Going Service will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Pentecostals of Gainesville, 8105 NW 23rd Ave. with Bro. J. W. Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Countryside Cemetery, 10926 NW 39th Ave. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street.
