Earline Wheeler Dawkins' Obituary
Mrs. Earline (Marilyn) Wheeler Dawkins, age 62, of Gainesville passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Shands at the University of Florida. God blessed Earline to come into the world on October 25, 1955 in Marks, Mississippi to the union of Samuel and Queen Ester Wheeler, the 1st born of twin girls.
Earline was educated in the Quitman County school system of Lambert and Marks, Mississippi. Earline received Christ at 12 years of age at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lambert, MS. Earline always had a Zeal for better things in life. She moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1973. After moving to Chicago, Earline worked downtown as an Executive Secretary.
Earline went on vacation to the Bahamas Island in the early 80’s where she met the love her life, Mr. Joel Dawkins. Earline and Joel fell in love and were later married in the Garden of Grove in Freeport Grand Bahamas. Earline worked at Ocean Reef of Freeport Grand Bahamas until her health failed. Earline later moved back to the USA to Gainesville, Florida for better medical treatment.
She is survived by her husband, Joel Dawkins, Sr.; children, Rosemary, Joel, Fredrick, Chaya, and Shiricka; grandchildren, Breanna, Joel, Sydney, Samirah, Lenelle, Josiah, and Jolie; sisters, Savine Cole (Phillip Cole, brother-in-law) and Shirlean Wheeler Mays; brothers, Samuel Wheeler (Charolyn Wheeler, sister-in-law) and Arthur Wheeler (Gaile Wheeler, sister-in-law); sister-in-law, Dolly Dawkins; brother-in-law, Don Dawkins; daughter-in-law, Shuanita Rutledge; nieces, Ashanti, Cecilee, Yaneke, Yulene, Nicholette, Jesilee, Britney, Blaze, and Dannyse; nephews, Claudius, Javon, Jason, Larry, and Eizel, and a house of other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 N Main Street.
