Earl Moon's Obituary
Earl Callaway Moon, age 80 of Gainesville, FL passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, due to complications of surgery. He was born on November 26, 1944, in Jacksonville, FL to Joseph Charlie and Ves Whitehead Moon.
He was a member of Grace at Fort Clarke Church. Earl enjoyed the men’s prayer group on Fridays. Earl loved the outdoors, feeding wildlife, watching Gator sports and helping those in need.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melinda Loggins Moon; son, Sohn Moon; brother, Victor (Sherry) Moon; sister, Theresa (Wayne) Wideman and granddaughter, Alysa.
Earl is now reunited with his mother, Ves, his father, Joseph and his son, Christopher.
Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Williams-Thomas Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Rev. Rick Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Meadows East Cemetery, 3700 SE Hawthorne Rd. The family will receive friends Friday, April 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
