Earl Thomas Mitman's Obituary
Earl Thomas Mitman, age 93 of Gainesville, FL passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019. He was born June 30, 1925 in Easton, PA to Earl Clayton and Jane Ellen Thomas Mitman.
He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII as a Fighter Pilot. He retired as a Civil Engineer for the City of Miami. He loved animals. He was a member of the Florida Power Squadron, the Archeological and Historical Society and the Miami Ski Club.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan Mitman; sister, Carolyn and husband John Gornick; two nieces and one nephew.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Countryside Cemetery, 10926 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville. The family will receive friends Friday, February 1, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alachua County Animal Services Department, 3400 NE 53rd Ave, Gainesville, FL 32609.
