Earl Durwood Hart, Professor Emeritus of Library Science, University of New Orleans, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 in Gainesville, Florida. He was 85 (on June 14, 2024) Mr. Hart was a native of Vanceboro, NC and graduated from Read Obituary
Mr. Hart was my teacher at the University of New Orleans. He was so kind and made his lectures interesting and fun. His main rule for trouble- shooting in the use of technology was, “Is it plugged in?” We all laughed! We adored him! I am a librarian because of Earl Hart. Bless him.
I just learned of Earl’s passing. I am very sorry to hear this. I worked for him for several years at UNO and kept in touch with him since he retired.
He was truly one of the kindest and most patient people I have ever had the privilege to know. He will be missed.
I've known Earl for about 4 years. We occasionally met by chance at Country Foodly, a small restaurant we both liked to eat breakfast at. Earl is such a kind man and has lead such an interesting life. I really enjoyed talking to him and hearing the stories of his travels. I am very saddened by his passing. He's a wonderful person and he will be missed by me and several other restaurant regulars that had the privilege to get to know him. My sincere condolences to his family. Earl meant a lot to me.
